Have you ever tried at something and failed? I have learned that sometimes you have to tweak your goal to fit with life. The important part is to get back on the road to your goal and start again.
In 2017, my personal goal was to publish a book a month.
I came close publishing a total of 9 books in 2017.
I decided to #DoItAgain2018 and though I got off to a good start
things did not turn out as I had planned.
Now it is 2019, March and I am just now getting things back on track.
What happened to January and February 2019 you might ask?
I am still asking myself the same thing.
But I believe everything happens for a reason and I am thankful for a detour.
I believe without it I would have veered off on the wrong path.
On one hand nothing really changed but on the other hand everything changed.
Like my perspective on life, what I wanted to focus on for my future,
and what direction I really wanted to be heading in.
My path is clearer.
Now, if it would only light up like a runway then maybe,
just maybe I might be able to take off.

So, what happened in 2018? Things were tight for my book a month goal with #DoItAgain2018 and I got off to a rocky start. I did manage to publish a book a month from January to May in 2018 (a total of 5 books; some are just e-books and the softcover books will be coming out soon) and everything seemed to be going smooth until... life happens.
I ended up sick most of the summer. Lesson learned, make room for life's ups and downs. Maybe trying to publish a book each month was a little too much and it did not allow much, if any, wiggle room to accommodate life. Maybe a better goal would have been, "I will publish 10-12 books this year".
It is now almost October and I am just now trying to get all of my book projects back up and going. My perception has changed since being out of commission for a few months and I am currently just trying to be my very best in all aspects of my life. I am not sure if I will be able to publish seven books from now (9/19/18) until the end of the year. I am fully recovered and my short-term sacrifices this summer I believe will end up being long-term solutions.
So, what is in store for the rest of 2018? I suppose we will just have to wait and see. I am not going to think about the one-hundred plus projects I have sitting in my immediate desk area nor the ones beyond that. Instead, I am going to think about this one moment, smile, and pick up my next project and know that every little thing will work out just like it is supposed to.
Could there be a tweak in my past goals of publishing a book a month for 2019? Maybe next year will be my year. #ThisIsMyYear2019 Good or bad, success or failure, I will be sharing my personal journey of chasing after my writing dreams in a book titled, All My Hats, in 2019.

As we bring out the mascots and the costumes once again, I realize what life is all about...making memories and having fun with those that you love. My mom gets so tickled talking about the character mascots and their costumes. In the picture below she could not stop laughing when I mention a new character (an animal, of course) and what I thought it should be wearing.

My personal goals for 2017 are to publish a book a month. The Giving Butterfly was actually uploaded on 2/28/2017 but Amazon shows the release date as the next day, as 3/1/2017 but technically that was my "February release" book.
I changed the way I look at my tasks (as a self-published Author that includes wearing a lot of hats), and chose this year (2017) to do what I perceived as the hardest or most time consuming tasks first. For me that is cover design and graphic design/book layouts.
Thanks to my change, I anticipate to publish more books this year in the first 6 months then I did over the last 4 years.
I published 5 books between the years of 2013 and 2016. One a year and two in 2016. In 2017, so far I have published a book a month.
Fast Fact: My Father, Robert Kramer, published his first book in 2015 at the age of 73. The Adventures of Cowboy Bob and Mr. Hogg, available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.com.
We are looking forward to doing a Father-Daughter Book Signing.

self-publishing book world!
My family & I are looking for a TV show where we can inspire others, chase our Author dreams, have some laughs, and maybe a few cries. Want to know what really goes on behind the scenes, how stories are developed, the trials and errors of navigating the self-publishing world, wearing all the hats, what's it like shopping for swim trunks for a full-size Alligator mascot or a dress for our newly acquired Dragon? Yes, we get some funny looks, even have some internal family disagreements over costumes and such, but in the end, this is our journey...won't you join us for a hilarious, family ride...because no one is perfect, right?!
